The city-state of Singapore is a melting pot of Chinese, Malay and Indian influences. Prostitutes are required to undergo regular health checks and to carry a health card at all times. While the police will occasionally crack down on brothels outside of designated red light areas, the reason is usually to control immigration rather than prostitution.
